SP leader says riot victims are ‘beggars’

Even as the Samajwadi Party and the Akhilesh government claim that they have offered maximum relief to the Muzaffarnagar riots victims, the leaders in the party never cease to rub salt into t he wounds of the riot victims.

SP leader Atiq Ahmed has said that those living in the camps were “professional beggars”. The former MP, who is now the Samajwadi candidate from Shravasti, told reporters: “In every class, in every society, professional beggars can be found.... The riot victims were given `15 lakhs and jobs. But the people now being shown in the camps are professional beggars.”
