The Union home ministry, worried that terror outfits may target VIPs during election rallies, has asked the Intelligence Bureau’s VIP security division to conduct a detailed security audit to plug possible loopholes.
While home minister Sushilkumar Shinde insists that adequate security is being provided to all VIPs, including BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi, the security agencies don’t want to take any chances.
The new audit was ordered soon after an IM module that planned to target election rallies was busted.
