Narendra Modi to ask for 100 days plan reports on June 6

Talking tough, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday demanded status reports from all his Cabinet colleagues by June 6 on all the ongoing projects in their respective departments and ministries as he laid stress on delivery of governance. Called to discuss the 100-day agenda of the new government, the meeting presided by Mr Modi decided to ask all ministers to submit a status report on all the ongoing projects related to their departments by Friday.

Mr Modi has already asked every ministry to chart out a 100-day agenda in terms of pending decisions that needs to be taken and also the reforms that each ministry has to take forward individually.

At the marathon three-hour meet, Mr Modi emphasised the aspects of his thrust on efficient governance, delivery and implementation.

During the meeting, Mr Modi is believed to have illustrated his ideas on how to boost the economy, attract greater investment and improve infrastructure. The discussions centred around the 100-day agenda which Mr Modi had asked his ministerial colleagues to set, identifying priorities and work for their implementation.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister asked ministers to come out with ideas and submit the status report by Friday.

Mr Modi has told his Cabinet colleagues to take their ministers of state along in implementation of programmes and that he would be regularly meeting them as also the secretaries individually.

Meanwhile, Mr Modi is scheduled to have a detailed meeting with top bureaucrats of key ministries to chalkout an action plan for his government for the next 100 days. Sources said the PM might list out his expectations and then ask secretaries to detail their actionplan. Secretaries of various departments have been clubbed into batches.

All secretaries in the finance ministry are in batch-A while top bureaucrats in power, petroleum, coal, renewable energy and mines in batch-B.

Infrastructure departments like road, shipping, railways and civil aviation are in batch-C and secretaries for departments related to food have been clubbed in another batch.
