For the first time in four years, a male candidate, Gaurav Agrawal, got top rank in the prestigious Civil Services Examination 2013. Men also claimed the second and third positions in the exam, whose results were declared on Thursday.
Agrawal topped the exam in his second attempt. He cleared the exam last year too and had joined IPS, and was undergoing training.
He holds a B.Tech. degree in computer science from IIT Kanpur and has a post-graduate diploma from IIM Lucknow.
Delhi-based Munish Sharma and Rachit Raj came second and third. Women had bagged the top slots in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 exams.
