With Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasising the use of information technology in governance and administration, all ministries and departments have been instructed to send soft copies of their final proposals to the Cabinet Secretariat to be listed on the agenda of the prospective Cabinet meetings.
In a communication to all ministries and departments, a copy of which is with this newspaper, the office of Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth has also informed that meetings of the Cabinet and Cabinet committees will be held on Wednesdays, which is a departure from the Manmohan Singh government’s preference for Thursdays.
It has also been suggested that all final proposals be sent to the Cabinet Secretariat six days in advance as far as possible and only such items would be considered.
