Bihar planners and bureaucrats have once again displayed their callous attitude towards the state’s planning and the country’s geography.
The recently-released Patna’s Master Plan 2031 was the latest example. Despite several attempts, the planners and bureaucrats could not present a correct master plan 2031 leaving everyone fuming or laughing.
The administration finally released the map which was not of Bihar but of India, that was either incomplete or truncated. The map is without Arunanchal Pradesh and several parts of Jammu and Kashmir are missing too. This has made the political class angry. Politicians, cutting across party lines, are demanding action against the officials and those involved in preparing the plan and the map. BJP leader and Union minister Ram Kripal Yadav has said, “This is a classic case of carelessness and those responsible must be punished.”
Senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said, “This is a serious matter. Why didn’t the officials check the fact before the map was drawn and released? They must be identified and punished.”
Even urban development minister Samrat Choudhary was shocked and showed his ignorance over the matter until it was highlighted on Tuesday. In a quick action the map was taken off the website and action against officials were ordered.
