Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Oommen Chandy has ordered a vigilance probe into the alleged corruption in running the 108 ambulance services by Ziqitza Healthcare Limited.
Opposition Leader V.S. Achuthanandan had alleged that Ziqitza Healthcare in which the chief minister’s economic advisor Shaffi Mather was a shareholder was looting the government through fraud in the distance being covered by the ambulances.
Overseas Indian affairs minister Vayalar Ravi's son Ravi Krishna and Union finance minister P. Chidambaram’s son Karthi Chidambaram are promotors of the Ziqitza, he said. Shaffi Mather refuted the allegation that he was still serving as director of Ziqitza Healthcare.
Legal action will be initiated against the Opposition Leader for making baseless allegations against him, he said.
