Tearing into West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday said that she has brought a spurious paribartan in the state. “When the wave of change swept Bengal I had thought that luck would smile on the state. But no real change has come in the past two years. She (Ms Banerjee) has totally disappointed because she started playing vote bank politics after she came to power. This is a big betrayal of the people,” he added. Mr Modi was addressing an election rally in Siliguri to seek votes for BJP candidates from Darjeeling, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri. GJM chief Bimal Gurung shared stage with Mr Modi. Pointing out that the Trinamul Congress government has not lived up to people’s expectations, Mr Modi said the people must send a stern masterji in Delhi if they wanted to bring it to the right path.
Two months ago, Mr Modi had addressed his maiden rally at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.
